Project for Retreat Weekend!

Halloween Weekend Jean M. Gram, Lynn, Luanne, Debbie, Judy, Jan, and I are all attending Sunny & Lorraines Joy of Quilting Weekend! So one of the projects I wanted to bring along and finish was my Aqua star quilt I started. But man oh man does this thing have a lot of little pieces! So I have been chain sewing them together at night before bed one group at a time so I don't have to hog the ironing board that long each time. Also i want to be able to get a lot accomplished this weekend. I feel I might take WAYYYY more then I will be able to do but would hate to run out of projects while there! :-) Here are all my little pieces!

Looks like I have some work ahead of me and need to finish up my quilt that I have on Lizzie. I am just doing a meander on it hopefully Lizzie behaves herself and I can get it done in a timely manor! :-) We shall see when my package arrives!

Quilt on Lizzie

So Friday afternoon I put a quilt on Lizzie one of my wedding quilts. I have the wedding on Sunday and really wanted to get this one done before the wedding and give it on the wedding since I don't see this bride as much.

This is the quilt on the machine! The machine is busy stitching away!

This is what the quilt looks like I really hope she likes it, we shall see on Saturday or Sunday when I give it to her before the wedding Sunday afternoon.

Gram's Birthday

On August 23rd 2010 we celebrated Gram's 80th Birthday with a HUGE surprise party that I started planning in March. We then (the ladies that sew on Fridays most of them with the help of a few other people) made gram a quilt. My cousin when the time came decided he would make an ice carving for the party.

This is what most of my summer was spent working on! With the exception of the wedding quilts I have been working on too.

Cake!

Gram and I made a cake for the shower today! Here is the cake!
Then here are the cupcakes I bought to go along with the beach theme!

Miss Parker's Quilt!

So as you all read a couple entries ago I had a huge disaster with the quilt I was giving my friends little girl! Well thank goodness for Gram because she and Adele helped me fix it!
I added the Tinkerbell to hide of the really bad spots! Then added all these cute little flowers from Adele around the quilt to hide a few other bad spots! I cheated on the binding. I usually hand sew my bindings on but this time I machine attached it! Didn't have enough time to sew it on.
Here are the pictures of Parker opening up the gift she loved it! As you can see by her smile! My friend said she had just asked for a new blanket for the couch when they are watching movies!

I am so happy she loved the quilt! I know she will be using it all the time! Now to finish up the one's for the weddings.... Who wants to help sew on bindings? One's a queen size quilt that's going to be a lot of binding!

Quilt from Jan

This is a quilt that Jan made she came one day with colors. Debbie and Judy helped her pick that colors for the center and then when we all got together the next time she had half the quilt done and then when we go together the time after that she had it done! I couldn't believe here! It's really pretty but I can't remember the name of the pattern at the moment!
This is the center of Jan's quilt. It's really pretty!

A Baby Shower Gift!

This is the baby shower gift I made for my second cousin. There is a snoopy fabric book and a little fleece blanket!

Busy Little Bee!

Been really busy around here. They switched me from working in the Orleans store to now working in the Chatham store. They needed someone with more knowledge over there. Was trying to get a quilt done for next Saturday for a bridal shower for my friend's little girl. I wanted to make something for her to open while her mom is opening up her gifts! I was trimming up the quilt when I found out that when I was quilting it the walking foot messed up and bunched the fabric together in a couple of spots. I FREAKED!!! I need this quilt next Saturday there is not a a lot of time between now and then!! So I called Adele Thursday and said HELP!!! We came to the conclusion that I needed to pull out part of the quilting and then in some of the spots I couldn't fix I am going to put some of Adele's flower Kut Ups to cover up the bad quilting! :-) Thank goodness we could figure out a way to fix it! So now I will be busting my butt to fix that before Saturday and still work all week! Who wants to help save me!! It's a good thing gram said she will do the appliqueing of the flowers and the Tinker Bell onto the quilt! It's never a dull moment around here!

Linus Project

Well yesturday was Linus Project. Lynn and I have been working our butts off for yesturday with the help of Judy, Jan and Adele. We tried to let Adele have this year off since she has so much other stuff going on! I think all in all it was a very productive day and we had a very good time. I think cutting all the kits really helped with everything going smoothly. A lot of people expressed interest in have it twice a year and also have it one of the times be a two day thing. So we shall see! It would all work out a little bit better if we had more donations that were age appropriate. But the money donation that we got from the Guild this month did help. So hopefully we can convince people to give a little more even though we all know how the times are! If not money then looking through their stash! We had 30 quilts finished last night when we packed up and about 15 kits I think that were not finished and taken home so hopefully we will see those come back and then a few more! Lynn took these pictures through out the day! This was first thing in the morning. We were all happy and giddy then! To bad Lynn didn't get a picture at the end of the day when we were all looking for our beds! Here's one of me that Lynn snapped to send to Jean so she says! HaHa! This was one of the kits Lynn and I put the colors together and cut!

This is one group of the quilts that were finished.

This is the second half. Look at all those colorful quilts!

Opinions needed please!

Ok, So I am trying to tidy things up and take up less space with all the boxes filled with projects. I bought a dresser that has SIX! whole drawers that i can put my projects in. My question is, can i put them in zip lock bags and not seal them up or should I just fold them all together and not put them in the bags? Someone told gram that it's not good to put fabric in a bag that it needs to "breathe". So please tell me what you guys think... I am not sure what to do now. But I do know I need to put things in the drawers so I can have more floor space back! :-)

Gram's Wall hanging

Gram did this wall hanging for the lady that we saw in Nebraska. She saw it when we went into one of the shops she took us to in Nebraska. This is the front side. This is the back side and the label I made for gram. She got a lighthouse stamp and then a stamp with a saying about giving love away. Can't remember it right now.

Another Christmas Present Finish but a Little Late

These are the two bags that I made for my friend Tracy for Xmas. One's a little bigger then the other and then I changed the colors around on each. She loved them. :-)
