Earings

This is what I have been up to lately.  I have been making these earrings instead of my usual quilting.

I have these pairs up for sale if anyone is interested in them.

They either have the swarovski crystals, or glass beads.  The ones that are $15 are the ones that have the crystals and the other ones have the glass beads.

The Girls

So back in July I spent 3 weeks sleeping on the couch, A) because Sassy ended up with an infection in her toe where it blew up bigger then a hot dog, and B) the A/C was broke upstairs and the A/C man couldn't figure out what was wrong with it! (It got to be over 100 up there!) So the first picture is of Sassy when she had her injury. My poor baby! It was once a week to the vet to change the dressing and flush it. They had to put 4 drain holes into her toe! Ouch!



The next picture is when they finally took her bandage off and she wouldn't leave the toe alone! We couldn't put the cone of shame on because she plows right through and we were afraid she would either knock gram over or cut the back of her legs. So I got the soft "donuts" from work or as other's called them her "floaties"


After all that we put them away! They are great to have easier around the house. The furniture was not getting rearranged! Well last Tuesday, Gram ends up at the vet with Jojo with a cut on her neck that was pretty big. We have to wash it and put meds on it. But she has since decided that she is going scratch it with her bag paw when we are not looking so now she's has the "donut" on. We told her had she not laughed at Sassy when she was wearing them she would not have been punished and had to wear it!




Lately it just hasn't stopped! Went to Sunny & Lorraine's Quilt retreat weekend this weekend and had an awesome time we always do! Got a lot accomplished will post them later.

Help!

Does anyone know how to make these? I am trying to make a few for the quilt show next weekend and what they had next to them to "make" them doesn't make them. The stain is too dark it's not see through like this red it. Please help!!!

MQX

Here are pictures from the trip to MQX! Lynn, Robyn and I made the trip to Providence. Gram stayed home to take dad to the eye dr. since they were dialating his eyes since PJ ended up in the hospital after having a seizure in the parking lot of Dick Beard Chevrolet.

Orchids

This Orchid is one that I got gram at the Orchid show in Hyannis when I returned from Florida the first time. I met up with Heidi and Peg and we walked around and saw all the Orchids... Wow!
This one is another one of the new ones that I got Gram at the show. In this picture it looks pink but it's actually a red with a deep burgundy throat. A different color I thought rather then the normal pinks and purples and whites.
This is one that has been blooming since xmas and just keeps getting more and more blooms every week.
Another one that is blooming right now. They always seem to bloom when Gram is not around.

This is the last one that is blooming at the moment. It is a light lime green with the pink throat. Very pretty. I will be adding more pictures because more will be coming into bloom soon. The rest of the orchids here all have buds on them that will be blooming soon.

Linus & a Birthday!

This past weekend we had Linus and a good friends 50th birthday. The top picture is of all the quilts that were finished Saturday night when we packed up! Then I just had to post pictures of Lola and Gracie with their birthday hats on! But Gracie preferred hers on her rear!

Trip down!

So PJ and I left last tuesday morning to drive to Florida. We did it in 21 hours. But man oh man was I ready to get out of the truck when we got there! Here are a couple pictures from our travels! One is of us on the Tappenzee bridge one is when we got TP degree weather in South Carolina, one of the lovely garage that was going down the road a head of us that PJ was trying to park his truck in, and then when we reached Florida what the temp. was!

Well after realizing that the last post was a success and I did it with my phone I will now be able to do it more! I was even able to upload photos right from my phone! Gotta love technology!

Brain Cramp

My little helper while working on Project Linus Stuff! Top picture is when she jumped up on the couch while I quickly sat down for a rest and the bottom pic is Miss Grace saying this is dog bed approved!

So yesturday at SSS I was looking over this pattern I was starting to make looked at and said ok I need 8 half square triangles of this color combo and I need 9 of this combo and 16 of this combo! So I went to town making them. Well this morning while tearing the paper off them I realized thats how many blocks of that color combos there were I needed to have then times it by 4! So here I was thinking I was all ready to begin and I still needed a million more of each color!

Project for Retreat Weekend!

Halloween Weekend Jean M. Gram, Lynn, Luanne, Debbie, Judy, Jan, and I are all attending Sunny & Lorraines Joy of Quilting Weekend! So one of the projects I wanted to bring along and finish was my Aqua star quilt I started. But man oh man does this thing have a lot of little pieces! So I have been chain sewing them together at night before bed one group at a time so I don't have to hog the ironing board that long each time. Also i want to be able to get a lot accomplished this weekend. I feel I might take WAYYYY more then I will be able to do but would hate to run out of projects while there! :-) Here are all my little pieces!

A phone Call from Jean!

Today while Gram and I were cleaning out the closet that we keep our fabric in we recieved a phone call from Jean! She was informing me that the quilt that I am going to quilt for her is on it's way! Looks like I have some work ahead of me and need to finish up my quilt that I have on Lizzie. I am just doing a meander on it hopefully Lizzie behaves herself and I can get it done in a timely manor! :-) We shall see when my package arrives!

Quilt on Lizzie

So Friday afternoon I put a quilt on Lizzie one of my wedding quilts. I have the wedding on Sunday and really wanted to get this one done before the wedding and give it on the wedding since I don't see this bride as much.

This is the quilt on the machine! The machine is busy stitching away!



This is what the quilt looks like I really hope she likes it, we shall see on Saturday or Sunday when I give it to her before the wedding Sunday afternoon.

Gram's Birthday

On August 23rd 2010 we celebrated Gram's 80th Birthday with a HUGE surprise party that I started planning in March. We then (the ladies that sew on Fridays most of them with the help of a few other people) made gram a quilt. My cousin when the time came decided he would make an ice carving for the party.


This is what most of my summer was spent working on! With the exception of the wedding quilts I have been working on too.
